IB Key app for iPhone and iPad

This is a great app done by IB. Login becomes much simplified without security compromise. Thanks!

With Touch ID authentication, login becomes much simplified and streamlined. Be careful though do not download and use the iPad version if you are already using the iPhone version. During login on the iPad, simply put in your password as you normally would, and your iPhone is going to prompt you for authentication with fingerprint. IB only allows one device and only one can work.

Does what it is supposed to. Instead of typing in numbers from the secure token card, IB will send you a push notification. Get the push notification, TouchID in and you are authorized. Very easy and secure.

I havent yet actually tried it "in the field," but it appears to work very well on test runs. Very promising. Way to go, IB!!!

I just tried this out on my new (today) Iphone 6 plus, iOS 8.3 -- it wont load because "the device is missing hardware support." Touch ID etc are all enabled. The app wont load on my Ipad Mini, or on my ipad Air. But it works on my friends iphone 5s. Go figure. The developers need to do more work on this software. The documentation in ITunes needs to be updated as well. How do I access my IB account if my phone breaks, or is stolen? Can I use some other method to generate response codes? Maybe from my friends iphone? Or will I get a plastic code card as usual, even if I am normally using this app?. Hopefully this review will help.

Does NOT work on my latest iPod touch 6 and iPad mini 2 it says "device doesnt have a required hardware feature". What are we, IB customers without iPhones supposed to do now??

I bought a new iPad Air 2 to be able to use this application and expedite access to the trading screen. The application worked well for a week and then stopped. This problem preventing me not only from accessing the trading platform, but also my account with Interactive Brokers during the weekend. When after an hour wait on the phone I got the technical support, I was told that the application was compatible,because I was able to downloaded it, but it didnt work on the iPad (sic). They said Apple was responsible for the "...compatible with iPad..." statement. Im now returning my iPad and closing my account with Interactive Brokers.

The last update wasnt throughly tested and hence broke the login work flow. And this update is definitely not a "minor bug fix".

Tried to use this application to set up security on my own account at IB, however the application thinks eight digit passwords are ideal. If youre using a password longer than eight digits, of course, the application does not work. Why IP requires a different password policy on their website and trading applications versus the password policy used in this application is beyond me.

It felt stupid to use the “security device” (a glorified plastic card) that IB had before this app. I cannot over emphasize how much overdue something like this was. The app worked out of the box like a charm … seamlessly registered my device and was able to log me in right away. Thank you Interactive Brokers.
